QUALITY ASSURANCE
Precise manufacturing controls are maintained throughout the production process. Environmental, in-process and finished product samples are collected and analyzed to assure that each batch of product is of the highest quality.
We produce our products using modified OTC drug manufacturing standards. Grow Company, Inc. has cGMP and GLP protocols in place for the manufacturing of its nutrients. Even though regulations do not require many of these steps, we believe that by following these strict guidelines, we are ensured that our finished product is of superior quality. At our plants, two independent outside contractors are responsible for monitoring water quality; and pest control on a monthly and biweekly basis, respectively. 

RAW MATERIALS & PREPARATION
Prior to the start of the production process, the nutrition media must be diluted, clarified, and pH adjusted. This process provides a consistent feed material important for yeast growth, that is also free from unwanted microbial contamination or foreign material. Non-genetically modified dry active yeast and Lactobacillus bulgaricus, carbohydrates, mineral salts, vitamins, and other raw materials are purchased from vendors who meet the strict specifications established for these various materials.
To ensure that we begin with the best ingredients, each batch of raw material undergoes rigorous scientific testing by our quality control experts. To guarantee that purity, safety and potency standards for our raw materials, intermediates and finished products are met, each of these materials are subject to sampling, and then quarantined until approval. Once the testing is completed and approved, a Certificate of Analysis is issued for each individual batch. All manufacturing is based on a lot numbering system, and every batch has its designated lot number for traceability.

MANUFACTURING PROTOCOLS - OVERVIEW
Complete hydration of active dry yeast is achieved by mixing one part of the dry yeast with four parts of water at 95-105ºF. Grow Nutrients® are natural products derived from a pure culture of Saccharomyces cerevisiae grown in enriched molasses under carefully controlled condition. Grow Nutrients® are manufactured by feeding a controlled amount of mineral salt (vitamin) embedded into an appropriate glycoprotein matrix to the yeast during the budding and growth process. This controlled metabolization process results in a mineral/vitamin yeast product in its most natural environment. During the budding and growth process, the mineral salt/vitamin is added to the budding yeast at an exact concentration, then after a predetermined time the yeast is harvested. The mineral/vitamin yeast is then thoroughly washed number of times with purified water. Then the product, upon enzyme treatment, is cold pasteurized, spray-dried and packed. In his recent study, Dr. Zemel has shown that consumption of yogurt not only helps to lose weight but also is effective at maintaining lean muscle mass. Dr. Zemel indicates that this is a critical issue when dieting -- you want to lose fat, not muscle. Muscle helps burn calories, but it is often compromised during weight loss.
